My son drove, while I took pictures. He was very patient as his mother snapped photos of cornfields in early March. He didn’t complain when I requested he stop so I could get a picture of an old, dilapidated barn or required him to slow down for a photo op of tiny white farmhouses in the distance. He just knows me….and he smiled.
There is nothing better than a morning drive on such a beautiful, sunny, Saturday morning!
It was so much fun to have the freedom to wander America, with no assignments. For 25 or 30 years I never had an assignment. These were all stories I wanted to do myself. —-Charles Kuralt
