Night Time In The Country

Last night, the moon rose full, pouring its light across the front yard.

It enveloped the night in its icy blue glow.

The stars, oh the stars! Pin pricks of fire, millions of miles away. What a joy to see them on this night.

The snow on the ground insulated sound, yet I could still hear the softened hum of a train as it went on its way into the darkness.

The puppy pulled hard on his leash as I valiantly attempted to not lose my footing on the ice as we trekked across the yard.

The winter air was cold on my face, and the night felt crisp.

I stared down toward the road, admiring the sparkling diamonds embedded in the snow, ablaze in the moonlight.

I love winter evenings.

Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. -Isaiah 40:26
