God’s Love Story

My favorite Bible, the one I’ve had for the past almost twenty years, has finally fallen apart. Some of the epistles are now falling out, the spine of the Book can no longer hold them in place. Over the years I’ve taped the cover, the cover that houses all my notes, and highlights. The words underlined, giving me hope and reassurance. The words that show me The Word, Jesus.

The new Book sets in the middle of the table, waiting for me. It is thick, full of gilded edged pages. The book is covered in black leather, not yet creased from use. My hands glide over the smooth surface. This Bible was given to me, as a gift, by my aunt, a couple of years ago. I anticipate that we will have many years together.

God’s love story, written out.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
