The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5
In a world, where we often live in the shadows of the broken, we need the light.
When the TV blares of scandal, terrorism, political unrest, and fighting, we need the light.
When relationships fracture, words are said, regrets are real, jobs are lost, decisions are hard, diagnoses scare, good-byes are uttered, and distance is painful…we need the light.
Life isn’t always hard, but let’s face it, many times it is.
We can feel like casualties of the war on this world, left bloody and broken.
Joy is there, but unless nurtured, it gets buried. Buried beneath the dirt of the day to day.
Jesus is that Light. He is the Light.
He chose to come into the darkness to bring light to all of us, the blind, stumbling around in the dark.
He came before any of us even realized we needed Him.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 NIV
Thank you, Jesus.
