Today the writing prompt for the Faith Barista JAM is….love.
*********************************************************************************************************************
Tomorrow is Valentines Day, the day set aside for flowers, candy, cards and all things lovely. Romance is in the air. It feels good to be loved and wanted. It is a warm and fuzzy feeling to have a place in another’s heart. Love just feels good.
But, as nice as Valentines Day is, it is only one day out of the entire year.
Real, day in day out, love has a much different face.
Instead of commercialized romance, true love sees the imperfections and loves anyway. Love is strong when the other is feeling weak. Love is smoothing another’s rough edges even if you may get some splinters. Love is holding a hand and not letting go. Love is always a choice.
Love is trying again because it is worth it.
And sometimes love isn’t pretty or easy… it requires sacrifice. At times like these love isn’t soft music and doily covered cards, it is hard and gritty and one has to be tenacious and fierce. One has to hang on, as if his/her life depends on it….because it does.
Real love is a series of decisions, choices made in little ways throughout the day….
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV
